1. Log in to ParentVUE
You can access ParentVUE either:
- Through the ParentVUE mobile app, or
- By navigating to your district’s ParentVUE login page in any modern web browser.
Once logged in, you will see a list of your enrolled students.
2. Locate the “Report Absence” Button
On your ParentVUE home screen:
- Find the Report Absence button displayed next to your student’s name.
- If you have multiple children, each student will have their own Report Absence option.
Click Report Absence to open the reporting window.
3. Fill Out the Absence Details
In the Report Absences window, complete the following fields:
Start Date
Select the first date the student will be absent.
End Date
- Enter an end date if the absence spans multiple days.
- If it is a one‑day absence, leave start and end date the same.
Reason
Choose the appropriate absence reason from the dropdown list (e.g., illness, medical appointment, bereavement, unexcused).
Note (Optional)
You may add any information you want the school’s attendance office to know—this is optional but helpful when clarification is needed.
4. Attach an Attendance Note or Document (Optional)
If you have a doctor’s note or other supporting documentation:
- Click Add doctor’s note or document (appears as a blue button or link).
- Select a file from your device to upload.

5. Save Your Submission
Once all fields are complete:
- Click Save to submit the absence.
After saving, ParentVUE will inform you that you must contact the school directly if you need to modify the request.
Important Attendance Guidelines
- Attendance can only be entered for today and up to 3 days in the future or past.
- Only a legal parent/guardian may submit attendance in ParentVUE.
