Overview

Student Chromebook power button light is on but the screen is blank or student chromebook froze while using chromebook.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Quick Keyboard Restart

  1. Press the Refresh and Power buttons at the same time for 5 seconds, then let go to restart.
    • Note: The refresh button is generally located above the number 4 on the keyboard

Standard Hard Reset

  1. Hold power button down until the light turns off
    • Note: This may take 10-15 seconds
  2. Count to five, to give the chromebook time to reset, then press power button again to turn on

Additional Information 

To help avoid this issue from happening again, please make sure the chromebook is properly shutdown and wait until the power light is turned off before closing the chromebook.
